Stories can be found in almost everything. In Studio this week we were assigned a project where we had to read fairy tales. Mine told the story of a Wolf and Seven Little Kids. We also watched A Midsummer Nights Dream. This movie is a perfect example of many stories compiled into one, yet they all connect back to the same story line. In my Music class this week my teacher said that all music tells a story and I immediately wrote this down because this is another example of a story. In Patrick’s class he also discussed how architecture tells a story of time and how buildings change as the years go by.
Artifacts
In Patrick’s class he talked about how artifacts are the objects that shape our world. We can learn about humanity by the artifacts that they collect. While watching A Mid Summer Nights Dream we saw that the flower was an artifact because it was hit by cupids arrow and used as a way to enchant people. In Suzanne’s drawing class she had us find five artifacts that were important to us and we had to draw them. We are also assigned a project that is due on Friday. We have to make an artifact that represents the fairy tale we were assigned.

Multi-view
The most obvious example of multi-view I saw this week was in A Mid Summer Nights Dream there were many different ways people could view the movie. Some could see it as just a dream and some could see it as real. I viewed it as both. There were some parts that were real and some that were a dream caused by the flower. Dream's Vs. Reality.

Translation
An example of translation that I found this week was during Patrick’s lecture. The example he spoke of was a bicycle shed and a cathedral. He said that people would have different translations of which they think is more important. It depends on the experiences the people have had and the environment they came from. For instance most people would view the cathedral as a symbolic place whereas they would view the bicycle shed as strictly utilitarian. In our fairy tales people often had different translations of the story due to experiences of their life.

Cycle
In studio as we discussed A Mid Summer Nights Dream we talked about how their was a cycle of love in the story. They were all in love with one person in the beginning and throughout the story all of the lovers fell in love with someone else. Making it a cycle of the flower to have this effect on people. Patrick also discussed how cycle is useful in history the quote that best represents this is “History repeats itself.”
Reflection on words
I think that all of the words we were given this week were demonstrated the most in the move A Mid Summer Nights Dream. This movie utilized all the words in some way. There were multiple stories within one and a few artifacts that played very important roles in the movie such as the flower and crown. There were multiple was to view this story by translation and multi-view which are based on the experiences of people. The cycle of loved played a big part in the fairy tale. Not only was the movie a good example but Patrick's class also helped with connecting the words together in his lectures.
